Jennifer L. Kent

Jennifer L. Kent joined Evangelista, Barristers & Solicitors in March 2002. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer held the position of Litigation Counsel with a national insurer in Ottawa. Her legal career began as an associate lawyer with a mid-sized litigation firm in London, Ontario, where she also completed her articles. Jennifer was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997.

With over two decades of litigation experience, Jennifer has represented numerous insurance and reinsurance companies, Canadian chartered banks and other financial institutions, energy corporations, and municipalities. Jennifer’s practice is predominantly focused on complex litigation and coverage issues. She possesses a unique balance of technical expertise, practicality, and efficiency, enabling her to achieve consistently excellent results for her clients.

Widely recognized as an effective advocate, Jennifer has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal. She has also represented clients before various administrative tribunals. Her extensive experience includes participation at all stages of litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Jennifer has handled both jury and non-jury trials and has notable appellate experience.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario in 1992, graduating on the Dean’s Honour Roll. She continued her legal education at Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating in 1995. Her strong academic foundation has been instrumental in her legal career, providing her with the analytical and critical thinking skills necessary for complex litigation.
