Evan Mackey

Evan Mackey is a litigation lawyer whose practice focuses on insurance defence, commercial disputes, construction litigation and a broad range of civil liability matters.

Before joining Evangelista Barristers & Solicitors, Evan articled and practised as an associate at a leading Toronto insurance defence firm. During that time, he developed experience managing complex litigation files from their early stages through resolution.

Evan has acted in matters involving motor vehicle liability, occupiers’ liability, property damage, contractual disputes, construction claims, insurance coverage and accident benefits. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Small Claims Court and administrative tribunals.

Evan approaches litigation with a practical and results-oriented mindset. He recognizes that every dispute presents its own legal, factual and commercial considerations and works closely with his clients to develop strategies tailored to their objectives. Evan is committed to providing clear advice, thorough preparation and effective advocacy at every stage of a proceeding.

Evan earned his law degree with honours from the University of Southampton, where he served as Vice President of the Canadian Law Society. He subsequently continued his legal education at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia.

Evan is an active member of The Advocates’ Society and Canadian Defence Lawyers. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys playing rugby, golfing, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
