Atef earned his Juris Doctor from the State University of New York in 2015. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2016 and subsequently called to the Ontario Bar in 2023. He joined Evangelista Barristers & Solicitors in 2025.
Atef began his legal career clerking at the New York State Supreme Court. Following his admission to the New York Bar, he commenced practice as an insurance defence attorney with a prominent insurance company in New York where he gained experience handling a broad range of insurance-related litigation, including motor vehicle accident liability, personal and commercial insurance defence, personal injury, property damage, and construction defect claims before both New York State and Federal Courts.
Upon his call to the Ontario Bar, Atef broadened his legal acumen working in real estate transactions, small claims litigation, estate matters, and corporate law. He later transitioned to a Toronto-based firm with a dedicated focus on insurance defence litigation. With a strong foundation in general liability and insurance law, Atef is known for his pragmatic and efficient approach to litigation strategy and dispute resolution. He has represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the License Appeal Tribunal.
Atef’s dual qualifications and cross-border legal experience uniquely position him to deliver insightful, strategic counsel. His academic background in finance, coupled with years of litigation practice in both the United States and Canada, allow him to approach legal matters with analytical precision, commercial awareness, and a high degree of professional rigor.
Outside of his legal practice, Atef is committed to giving back to the community through volunteer work and charitable initiatives in his local neighbourhood.
